ENG: Today we propose this figure for its great aspirations and possibilities in the world of art, due to the personal conception of SCULPTURE itself, conceived in its many forms and nuances, which make the projections of its ephemeral art with considerable impact manage to fix an idea in the mind of the spectator.
The work of the artist NICCOLO ‘CALMISTRO reflects a vision of the world in which there is no longer the space that contains it, nor a single time along which events take place. “There are only elementary processes in which Quant of space, matter and light interact with each other continuously”
Space and Light in this perspective, become pliable material entities, made therefore of the same matter of our bodies.
“The flow of Time, which arises from the interaction between the heat and the quanta of corresponding elementary fields, is internal to the world, born in the world itself, from the relationships between quantum events that are the world and are themselves the source of time”.
From the passage of heat, the difference between past and future is born.
And our life is subject to it.
Perhaps Love, capable of transcending space and time, can reintroduce us to new matter.

BORDERS – The beam of warm light generated by the laser pierces the freezer, crosses it from side to side and projects itself on its opposite edge.
The holes made, an expression of rupture and tension of the gesture, allow the light to take its course through, as in a black hole, two separate temporal spaces.
The work is therefore aimed at investigating the transformation of light that, by the heat, in this leap from one dimension to another appears to be material. At first firm, barely perceptible in its lukewarm essence, ephimeral and crystallized in an “icy” temporal dimension, the light comes to life from the heat that enters the freezer.
The latter alternates between phases of greater and less intensity, and determines a vital time.

BEYOND – Parallel to the sculptural research, light, heat and time are investigated through this series of photos by title “Oltre”.
The camera, an instrument that uses images through light and exposure time, lends itself, in fact, to experimenting these same variables.
After placing a filter on the camera lens, which obstructs the passage of light, some selected parts of the subject are obscured, like a sort of black hole that contracts space and time.
“I like to think of having canceled the subject’s time with this action, of having brought it into a kind of temporal limbo.
The choice of the subjects, therefore, was not casual: in the faces, in particular, the dark area marks the border between life and death, between oneself and the other, in a dilated time “.

DRONE MEMORY – Into the dark environment the beam of light emitted by the laser hits a body of ice in one spot. The phenomenon of reflection, and the heat inherent in light, produce an enlarged and dynamic image of the transformation underway in that one point.
It reveals a moving microcosm, a constantly evolving flow, a sort of “memory” of matter.
Light and water interact with each other as to evoke their genesis.

VISION – The work offers food for thought on the level of depth belonging to the real. In a time when the exasperation of the real does nothing but arouse uncertainty, we are involved in the creation of our reality and our identity.
The crystallization of our consciousness determines our time.

ITA: Proponiamo oggi questa figura per la sue grandi aspirazioni e possibilità nel mondo dell’arte, dovuti alla personale concezione della SCULTURA in sé, concepita nelle sue molteplici forme e sfumature, che rendono le proiezioni della propria arte effimere e con notevole impatto riescono a fissare un’idea nella mente dello spettatore.
Il lavoro dell’artista NICCOLO’ CALMISTRO riflette una visione del mondo in cui non c’è più lo Spazio che lo contiene, né un unico Tempo lungo il quale avvengono gli eventi. “Ci sono solo processi elementari in cui Quanti di spazio, materia e luce interagiscono tra loro in continuazione”
Spazio e Luce in quest’ottica, diventano entità materiali plasmabili, fatti dunque della stessa materia dei nostri corpi.
“Lo scorrere del Tempo, che nasce dall’interazione tra il calore e i quanti di corrispondenti campi elementari, è interno al mondo, nasce nel mondo stesso, dalle relazioni fra eventi quantistici che sono il mondo e sono essi stessi la sorgente del tempo”.
Dal passaggio di calore, nasce la differenza tra passato e futuro.
E la nostra vita ne è soggetta.
Forse l’Amore, capace di trascendere spazio e tempo, può reintrodurci a nuova materia.

CONFINE – Il fascio di luce calda generato dal laser perfora il congelatore, lo attraversa da parte a parte e si proietta sul suo limite opposto.
I fori realizzati, espressione di rottura e tensione del gesto, permettono alla luce di compiere il suo corso attraversando, come in un buco nero, due spazi temporali separati.
Il lavoro é quindi volto ad indagare la trasformazione della luce che, ad opera del calore, in questo salto da una dimensione all’altra appare materica. Dapprima ferma, appena percettibile nella sua essenza tiepida, effimera e cristallizzata in una dimensione temporale “ghiacciata”, la luce prende vita dal calore che entra nel congelatore.
Ques’t ultimo ne alterna fasi di maggiore e minore intensità, e ne determina un tempo vitale.

OLTRE – Parallelamente alla ricerca scultorea, luce, calore e tempo sono indagati at- traverso questa serie di foto dal titolo “Oltre”.
La macchina fotografica, strumento che usa le immagini attraverso la luce e il tempo di esposizione si presta, infatti, a sperimentare queste stesse variabili.
Dopo aver posizionato un filtro sull’obbiettivo della camera, tale da ostacolare il passaggio della luce, alcune parti selezionate del soggetto risultano oscurate, come una sorta di buco nero che contrae spazio e tempo.
“Mi piace pensare di aver annullato con questa azione il tempo del soggetto, di averlo portato in una specie di limbo temporale.
La scelta dei soggetti, dunque non è stata casuale: nei volti, in particolare, la zona oscura segna il con ne tra la vita e la morte, tra sé e l’altro, in un tempo dilatato”.

DRONE MEMORY – Nell’ambiente oscurato il raggio di luce emesso dal laser colpisce in un punto un corpo di ghiaccio. Il fenomeno della riflessione, e il calore insito nella luce, producono un’immagine ingrandita e dinamica della trasformazione in atto in quell’unico punto.
Si rivela un microcosmo in movimento, un usso in continua evoluzione, una sorta di “memoria” della materia.
Luce e acqua interagiscono tra loro come ad evocare la loro genesi.

VISIONE – Il lavoro offre spunti di riflessione sul livello di profondità appartenente al reale. In un tempo in cui l’esasperazione del reale non fa che suscitare incertezza, siamo coinvolti nella creazione della nostra realtà e della nostra identità.
La cristallizzazione della nostra coscienza determina il nostro tempo.
